Sanlúcar de Barrameda

sanlucar de barrameda travel tips

We’ve all heard of Madrid, Barcelona, and Seville, but drive just one hour south of Seville and you’ll find some of the best seafood, best weather, and best people you can find in Spain. Located in the sunny beach-lined  province of Cadíz, Sanlúcar has three important qualities that are difficult to find anywhere else; bueno, bonito, y barato (good, beautiful, and cheap!). In Sanlúcar we get the occasional English or German tourist, but the majority of tourists who come here are Spanish (because no one outside of Spain knows about it—it’s a secret, which is better for you: no tourist traps!).  If you’re passing through southern Spain you need to put Sanlúcar de Barrameda on your list of stops!

I just love Sanlúcar. I decided to venture there solo for 4 days for a tapas festival back in 2011; I had such a wonderful time, not to mention I have an intense love of Manzanilla.
Hopefully soon I will be able to return.

I love it here too! There’s a lot of fun events throughout the year to attend, you should definitely come back!
