Hola, I’m Kate!
I started this blog as a way to share travel recommendations with family and friends. I’m originally from Florida’s Forgotten Coast and after graduating from Flagler College in 2011 I moved to Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz) to teach English for a year. I ended up loving Spain (and fell for a Spaniard) and decided to become a permanent resident of Spain. In 2012 I moved to Seville for a marketing job and after a wonderful year in the city I returned to Sanlúcar (there might have been a boyfriend and a chocolate labrador puppy involved in that decision). Currently I work from home as the Director of Product Marketing for a tech company based in San Francisco / London.
I try to travel as much as possible and you’ll find most of my posts are about destinations I’ve been to, weekend getaways, expat life in Spain and traveling tricks I’ve learned along the way. If you have any questions about the places I’ve been feel free to comment on the post and I’ll try to answer ASAP! If you have questions about my disclosure policy click here to learn more.
I met Javi my first weekend in Sanlúcar & we got married in 2015.
Pumba is our 40-kilo fur baby—check out my pet-friendly travel section if you’re traveling with a pet!

Hello Kate
Your blog is fantastic and such a great lifeline for me 🙂 Myself and my wife bought a house early 2015 in Sanlucar and are planning to relocate there next year – hopefully once we have jobs secured!
I am hoping to get a job within an English academy in Sanlucar or a local town so any advice you can provide would be fabulous!
Many thanks
Nicola

Hi Kate. Lovely little blog. I just discovered it because I’ve been offered a teaching job in Sanlucar so I’m currently planning for it.
I’m in Tenerife at the moment and looking at flights it’s much cheaper for me to fly into Seville. I see you covered on your site travel to Sanlucar from Seville. I’m hoping to get the bus but do you know if they allow small dogs on board? I’ve tried looking at their website but it’s totally confusing.
Thanks!
Kate's Travel Tips
Hey Debbie, yes their website is a mess. :/ I’m not sure about small dogs…I suppose if he/she can fit in a little carry case on your lap it shouldn’t be an issue! You could also check out BlaBlaCar, I have friends who use it to travel between Seville and Sanlúcar. Let me know how it goes!
