Everything you need to know about playing golf in Sanlúcar de Barrameda

June 17, 2015Leave a Comment

Drive 5 minutes from the center of Sanlúcar de Barrameda and you’ll find yourself at the Sanlúcar Club de Campo. The golf course offers beautiful views of both vineyards (holes 1 – 9) and the Guadalquivir River/Doñana National Park (holes 9 – 18)…and if you’re up for the challenge, it’s one of the most difficult golf courses in Spain!

Rates & Rental Equipment

It costs 25€ to play the 18 hole course and you can also rent a golf cart for 15€. If you’re traveling around Spain/Europe and have left your equipment at home you can also rent clubs for 15€ from the Caddie Master’s office.

Tournaments & Events

In spring and summer tournaments take place at least twice a month on Saturdays; tournaments are usually open to the public and you can pay a fee to participate. Prizes range from giveaways, beer & wine, trophies, etc. depending on who the tournament sponsor is. Tournaments begin around 8am and end at 2pm, afterwards everyone goes to the Bar Cafeteria Club de Campo for lunch (normally lunch is included if you pay to participate in the tournament) and awards. You can visit the Club de Campo’s website and Facebook page for information on upcoming tournaments.

The golf club’s bar/restaurant hosts events from time to time as well (mainly concerts and barbecues). It’s a nice family owned and operated cafeteria with tasty breakfast and lunch options and unbeatable prices!

How to get to Sanlúcar’s Golf Course

If you’re driving from another city like Seville or Jerez you take the “Carreta de Trebujena” (Trebujena highway) to get to the golf course. On this road you’ll eventually come across the “back entrance” to Sanlúcar (this road is called “Carretera de Practico”). Once you turn onto the Carretera de Practico take an immediate right at the “Sanlúcar Club de Campo” sign and follow the road until you see the back entrance to the golf course on your left; the community is gated so you’ll need to call the Caddie Master to let you in (the phone number is on the gate). If you’re headed to the golf course from the center of Sanlúcar you can take a taxi (there’s a taxi stop at the end of Calle Ancha and it only costs about €5); when it’s time to return you can ask the staff at the cafeteria to call a taxi to pick you up. If you’ve got a rental car just enter the golf courses’ address into your GPS; there are several different ways to get to the golf course from town and some of the roads are unmarked so GPS is the way tot go!

Urbanización Sanlúcar Club de Campo
